A few weeks ago Lorie and I and some friends went out for an evening, an evening that felt so good, somewhat normal, listening to live music that was so good for the soul. We were at a table for 8, but were soon joined by another couple. We soon learned they were acquaintances from long ago when our sons played minor hockey. With some catching up done, he revealed that he has cancer and has had it for the last 10 years. He lives life to the fullest, he does not stop living because he has this disease. Him and his wife travel extensively and go out and meet people and share his story. Some days are not diamonds, but he holds his head up high and looks for the goodness in the day. He stated we are all dying a little bit each day with or without disease. This man and his wife are a true inspiration, we all felt blessed to have crossed paths after all these years, a true blessing. We can live as if we are dying or we can live life to the fullest, unafraid to embrace people, shake their hands. Live life with no regrets. Live your life as if it was your last day. Do the things you want to do.
